AsiaCarbonDesk

English-language intelligence on Asian carbon markets & carbon removal

Masthead & Editorial Team

AsiaCarbonDesk is an independent, English-language desk covering carbon markets and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) across Asia. We exist to make developments that first appear in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian and other regional languages legible to an international audience of policy, finance and corporate readers.

How the desk works

Every brief and analysis is produced by the AsiaCarbonDesk Editorial Desk. We monitor primary sources — government ministries, registries, exchanges and established regional outlets — in their original language, then summarise the development in English. To each summary we add in-house methodology, market and company context so a reader can understand not just what happened, but where it sits in the wider carbon landscape.

We label our work in two formats: Briefs, which are concise summaries of a single development, and Analysis, longer pieces that connect several developments or examine a theme in depth.

Editorial responsibility

The Editorial Desk is responsible for source selection, translation accuracy, the context we add, and corrections. We report on primary sources and clearly distinguish reported facts from the context and interpretation we supply. Where a figure, date or claim originates in a source we could not independently verify, we attribute it to that source rather than stating it as established fact.

If you believe something we have published is inaccurate, please contact the desk. We correct confirmed errors promptly and note material corrections on the affected article.

Languages we work from

Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Malay — reported into English. Coverage spans Japan, South Korea, China, Southeast Asia, India and global carbon policy that bears on the region.
