The International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) has published a working paper offering policy recommendations for Brazil’s federal carbon market, known as the SBCE, which is currently under construction. The paper — “Brazil Carbon Market Framework 2.0” — maps out a policy roadmap for the scheme, drawing international attention in part because Brazil, as the source describes it, holds the world’s largest rainforest carbon stocks.
In a coordinated set of releases, IETA also published aon CORSIA and a third document laying out recommendations for India’s Article 6 framework — together signalling the association’s intent to shape carbon market design across several major jurisdictions simultaneously. The releases follow IETA’s establishment of a net-zero hub in São Paulo in May, deepening the organisation’s institutional footprint in Latin American carbon markets.
